It was in January 1966, that Mont-Sainte-Anne officially became a ski resort. It had 4 lifts, including the only gondola in Eastern Canada and opened with 10 trails for ski lovers!
But this was not the first time that someone was interested in opening Mont-Sainte-Anne for skiing. In 1943, some avid skiers had a mission to find the perfect slope for a large-scale alpine ski competition. Passionate and not willing to give up, they were able to host the Canadian Championships in 1947. The first of a long list of events to follow, this event solidified Mont-Sainte-Anne’s reputation for its snow quality and the challenges it offered.
Mont-Sainte-Anne has 66 trails and offers night skiing with the highest elevation in Canada. The Côte de Beaupré’s Jewel, Mont-Sainte-Anne is also well known for its cross-country centre, the largest in Canada.
