The Beauty and the double-black diamond Beast!

Mont-Sainte-Anne is proudly opening its 66th trail this season – The Beast.  New addition to our expert playground, the beastly trail boasts one of the steepest angles in the East: 65%!  Rated double-black diamond, The Beast promises quite the chill to those on the lookout for thrilling experiences.  To that effect, Mont-Sainte-Anne is renowned for its vast expert terrain: more than one thirds of its trails are veritable black and double-black diamonds.  The famous La Crête trail has been many times over been named the perfect run thanks to its challenge and impressive view.  The great Black Forest is a trio of steep wooded runs which are, legend has it, haunted by the ghost of a German baron.  And let’s not forget the evil twins, The S and The Super S – two top to bottom double-black diamond runs that can send chills down your spine.  The newcomer to this great family is located just off The Beauty, a difficult glade opened last year.  The new terrible twosome lays on the South Side of the mountain.  Skilful skiers and riders may whisk through The Beauty, but can they tame The Beast?

The ultimate experience…

glades These 20 acres of black and double black diamond glades promise extreme exhilaration. The Black Forest will consolidate the fame of Mont-Sainte-Anne as being the mountain with the highest degrees of difficulties in the East.

Just as with the famous Black Forest of southern Germany, woodland through majestic mountains, Mont-Sainte-Anne’s Black Forest also has its mystic side. Those who decide to enter this extreme zone agree to take up a defying challenge and not without risks!!! Advanced skiers and riders will experience thrilling runs, filled with multiple emotions. Obviously, the resort also wants to be reassuring towards its daring guests. The zone has been developed with the highest respect for mountain safety.

A triple challenge…

black forest The zone is comprised of 3 runs, spread over a width of 250 m, at the top of the south-western edge of the mountain, between the beginning of La Crête and the Bellevue curve. With an average length of 760 m, the 3 new runs will bring skiers and riders to a junction at the bottom of La Crête and L’Espoir. This area will be serviced by a triple chair "La Trip" and the “Etoile Filante” gondola.

Triumph, a double black diamond trail, is certainly the most difficult run of the zone. Skiers have a triumphant feeling at the bottom, having overcome its frightening woodland over its 300 m of vertical drop.

Munster, inspired by the name of the famous German cathedral in the Black Forest, as well as Schnell, a German word which evokes speed, became black diamond trails, offering intrepid challenges to experts.
